A quick fix...

Do not go there.

So what is a quick fix?

Allow me to expand somewhat on this.

It is basically a new swing thought/idea and has a very short life. As a matter of fact it will normally expire within three rounds of golf. During the first round it can work wonders and we can hear ourselves uttering something like, “I’ve definitely cracked the secret of the golf swing this time.”

On the second round although it still works to a certain degree we are beginning to realise that doubt and disappointment are starting to emerge.

On the third round that same thought, which was almost being hailed as a miracle, has lost all of its magic and will be discarded like all the others that have passed before.

quick fix The part I find hard to understand is we live our golf lives in search of the next idea and never seem to realise that we are doing something wrong.

We will find another one and before we can stop ourselves will exclaim loudly, “I have found the magic move at last.”

I think it is quite sad that we live in search of the next quick fix, lasting fix, permanent fix, perfect fix, or any fix at all. And try to experience it for one and a half to two rounds, and then wait until the next one lifts its head above the horizon.

Oh come on, waken up!

A quick fix does not work, it is always going to let you down and with it you will find yourself back in your hacker hell once again.

I honestly believe that we enjoy the illusion created by them so much that we forget the real pain they cause. I for one have ignored them for years and will continue to do so as I have realised a very peaceful playing state without them.
