Who needs a golf lesson proshop...
without creating too much stress.
The golf lesson proshop is where I store all the essential tools for my students. These tools are my magic wands and I would love to share some of them with you. If you’ve managed to get as far as this page, ‘golf lesson proshop’ then I would imagine that your interested in what I am actually teaching.
Your simple task on the previous page was to swing and feel the smoothness. Firstly one handed, then normal, and then with the ball. The main theme was trying to feel a smoothness and overall body contentment or warmth.
As we are tackling feedback from our body parts, it is important that we use tools that are going to heighten these. As explained on another page, when the physical body is feeling good then the mind feels the same and vice versa.
In order to achieve this state it is once again the conscious mind we must address. We are again dealing with Gallwey’s‘ self 1’. (What is ‘self 1?’). We must be able to achieve heightened awareness in order to benefit from the coming lesson.
It’s self 1 who is going to impede this awareness, so be warned. Let me explain, you’ve swung with one hand and noticed that there’s tightness in your left ankle as you follow through.
Using heightened awareness, you feel that this tightness disappears or decreases by having self 1 merely take notice. The same awareness is used when you adopt your normal stance and grip.
You may realize this secret the first time you read what’s to come or you may have to read it a hundred times before the penny drops but I do assure you the penny will drop.
I will give you a great exercise and I’m sure with a little experimentation you’ll find your way. This exercise would of course only be tried during practice at first and later be tried on the course.
