Golf World Magazine
Golf World Magazine printed an article on the history of golf and quoted some of world golfs handicap statistics. I have always been more concerned with golf swing improvement, especially in womens golf, than actual statistics but they do interest me. After reading that particular GW article, I delved into the internet trying to find such statistics for myself but came up blank. As I mentioned on the previous pages, there is a superb interactive chart on the German Golf Network that has perfect statistics for its 500,000 golfers.
This page should interest most of you because I believe, due to further research, that these figures represent, fairly accurately, world handicap statistics. As there are an estimated 50 million golfers in the world, just multiply the German stats by 100. To access this page first go to this link.
Using the nav-bar on the left of this page, click on the heading, "Mein Handicap" and when that extends, click on, "Vorgabenstatistik." This is the interactive page where you can put in your own age, and find out how you fare among the golfers in Germany and multiply by 100 for world ratings. You will be able to see both the chart and below it the graph. You can enter any age from 1-100 and if you put the same age in both boxes like the example below you will get statistics for that age only. I have translated the words in the graphic below:
There is one other page here that you may find interesting and that is the tournament page.You definitely won't find these statistics in Golf World Magazine.
Using the nav-bar on the left of this golf statistic page, click on the heading, "Meine Turniere" and when that extends, click on, "Turnierergebnisse."A page will then open showing almost all of the tournaments Leela (Juliana) played from her first one in Oct. 2004 to her last one in Germany in Oct. 2007. You can go even further accessing her position in a particular tournament an dalso accessing her scorecard for that day.
