In Search of a Natural Golf Swing
It is womans golf that has inspired me in my search for a more natural golf swing. While some people believe a good knowledge of swing dynamics and the rules of golf are important, I am a firm believer that the study of motor skills and sport psychology is the way to better learning. Because of these studies, I have managed to develop a special teaching method that I call 'mirroring'. This is the simple method that the entire animal kingdom use to teach vital skills to their offspring. One only has to look at the predatory prowess of the cat family or the expert foraging of marsupials or rodents. And primates, of course, excel in how they learn using this method.
A baby spends her first months watching either siblings or parents performing gross motor skills and when she's ready begins to attempt the same. She will try to get around like everyone else but because of balance issues will do this by crawling on all fours. But she looks up at the others and sees she still isn't doing the same. Eventually she manages to prop herself up on two limbs and, using furniture, simulates her elders to a certain degree. She does however realise that, apart from when the alpha male has overdone the intake of alcohol, nobody else is using the furniture in this way.
She can even remember instances where the same male was also reduced to crawling about after extreme alcohol consumption. Eventually, she does begin to master the art of walking and has achieved this by mirroring her family.
