Smooth Swing

That's where the secret lies. A smooth swing sends the ball high and makes it land really soft...

But what's the easiest way to find this smoothness?

There are three simple methods that I use...

1) Hum your swing: Hum a note and listen for any imperfections. Iron out any of these blips and you will experience improved results. Do this until the humming is interference free and you will be landing the ball on a sixpence.

2) Kill the ants: Land the sole of your wedge on the grass like the under-carriage of an aeroplane without wheels. The grass can be compared to an insect forest, allowing the sole of the club to crush as many little insects against the ground as possible. (There is no better weapon to use for this than a sand wedge).

3) The eight swing drill: Swish the grass eight times with your sand wedge, hitting the ball, eventually. with the sixth swing. The main learning takes place with the two swings that take place after the ball has been played.
